Oakland School Fights Austerity

From the Oakland Unified School District, images of a community fighting to save its school from austerity closure as well as occupying Obama's campaign headquarters.  Then, of course... there's Chalk-u-pie.  Oakland was a remarkable place with remarkable people fighting for their dreams and the dreams of their children.

Wall St Solidarity

In the response to the ongoing protest and occupation at Wall St. in New York, many people around the country are beginning to rally in solidarity for those who continue to camp out in Manhattan. These photographs from Burlington, Vermont are from among the first of these rallies in solidarity. Protesters, demonstrators, and community organizers have vowed to continue holding rallies for solidarity as long as there continue to be occupiers confronting corporations and banks on Wall St.

The fight against an unjust, unfair, and inhumane system continues every Sunday in City Hall Park in Burlington as well as on Wall St and around the world.

If you want to add your voice to the clarion call for REFUSAL to participate any longer in subjugation of the people by banks and corporations check out Burlington's Facebook page and prepare to get moving.

Surprise Rally

I walked out of a certain bookstore recently in the town I live in and discovered a protest/solidarity rally for union workers in Wisconsin occuring right in front of me!

Fortunately I "happened" to have my gear with and was able to get a shot or two
